About Bennett
Why did you choose this program?
Coming into college I thought I wanted to be a Marine Biologist. After taking the introductory Oceanography course however I found out I was more intrigued by the physics of the ocean and the instrumentation being used to measure all the parameters in a multi-discipline science.
How did this program prepare you for your job?
This program provided me with real world, hands on experiences in the field and lab settings. It also provided a background for data analysis and technical skills.
What did you enjoy most about the program?
This program has so much to offer outside of the regular curriculum. Providing opportunities to do work in the field one is going into while studying provides experience many do not see until much later in academia or the work force.
What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?
Ask your advisors and professors about lab or field work opportunities early and often.
