How to Create and Manage Groups in Canvas
Introduction
Groups can be used in several different areas in Canvas, such as Discussions and Assignments. Groups are commonly used for breaking up a larger discussion into smaller groups, or for assigning group projects.

Some reasons why using Groups can enhance your course:
- Assign Group Leaders: Designate a student to coordinate group interactions and activities
- Organize Enrollment: Students can be assigned reorganized as needed, instructors can also assign students to selected Groups
- View all Group activity: See student participation in Groups

- Students can create groups to collaborate on assignments, projects, and set up study opportunities
- Within groups students can share files, start discussions, and collaborate
