Freshmen Impaction

Cal Poly Humboldt is an impacted campus at the freshman level and will use supplemental admissions criteria to admit first-time freshmen for the fall 2017 semester.

Applicants from the Cal Poly Humboldt defined local area will be admitted based on CSU systemwide eligibility criteria. SAT or ACT scores are required for all students with a grade point average below a 3.00. Test scores must be submitted by the deadline indicated on your Student Center To-Do-List.  All applicants are urged to take the SAT or ACT since campuses may use test results for advising and placement.  Our local area is defined as those students graduating from high schools in Humboldt, Del Norte, Northern Mendocino, and Western Trinity counties.

Freshman applicants from schools outside of the Cal Poly Humboldt defined local area who are CSU eligible will be rank ordered by eligibility index and admission offers will be made in descending order of eligibility until the freshman class is full. SAT or ACT scores are required for all students with a grade point average below a 3.00 (3.61 for non-residents).  All applicants are urged to take the SAT or ACT since campuses may use test results for advising and placement. Test scores must be submitted by the deadline indicated on your Student Center To-Do-List.

A small percentage of the freshman class may be admitted based on eligibility index and additional characteristics including first generation college status, socioeconomic factors, skills or talents that align with or contribute to special university programs, and evidence of overcoming educational obstacles.

All freshman applicants must complete the required subject matter requirements with grades of C or better by the date of high school graduation. Course requirements may not be completed during the summer after high school graduation.
