Partnerships

The Social Work Program's philosophy of engagement, critical reflection, collaborative efforts, genuine partnership, and appreciation for diverse perspectives facilitates development of meaningful relationships, especially in rural communities. This partnership creates and fosters direct experiences in which students can develop their talents and skills to alleviate human suffering and participate in changing social conditions.

Our relationships with agencies in the region are essential to our program’s effectiveness and assist agencies by enhancing the services provided to clients across Northwestern California. Successful field-based instruction requires the Social Work Program to have strong partnerships with local social service communities as well as other organizations engaged in sustainability and social justice-oriented work. Public agencies, private non-profit agencies, and tribal organizations constitute the essence of our community-based efforts. At the heart of this is our belief that students, faculty, and staff alike ought to be engaged in community work and integrated learning that makes a positive, lasting difference.
