Canvas is Ready for 2017 – are You?

January 13, 2017

Staff and faculty can now access Canvas via a dedicated pagelet in myHumboldt and a quick-access button at the top of the screen next to the Moodle button; students also have the quick-access button in their portal. Students were enrolled into their courses beginning January 10.

If you’ve been using the Canvas mobile app, you should log out of the app and then search for Humboldt State University to get the latest “Humboldtized” version. The easy-to-remember URL is canvas.humboldt.edu.

Until all faculty are trained and have migrated their course materials into Canvas, courses will be taught in both Moodle and Canvas this term. So if you still need to get up to speed, join us for Spring Migration Week and Canvas, Coffee, and a Cookie. The Canvas team will be available January 17-20, 8am to 5pm in the LMS Office, Room 310 on the third floor of the Library. Bring your laptop, course materials, and coffee mug and we'll help you get comfortable with Canvas. Faculty who participated in the Fall 2016 Canvas workshops reported that they felt much better as a result about converting their courses to Canvas.

For the latest updates, check out the wealth of resources on the HSU Canvas information site at humboldt.edu/canvas. If you need help with using Canvas, click the Help button on the lower left hand main menu under "Commons" in Canvas to get easy and quick access to the Canvas support team anytime, day or night. If you have issues with external apps like TurnItIn, Zoom, etc., contact the vendor of that application or submit Technology Help Desk ticket at www.humboldt.edu/tech-help.
