Jennifer Ortega, M.A.

Lecturer, Department of Environmental Science and Management

I have a variety of environmental education experience beginning with my time as a middle school science teacher to education ranger for Redwood National & State Parks and currently coordinator of education programs at the HSU Natural History Museum. I am passionate about teaching because I enjoy working with students of all ages but really the thing about teaching is it is coupled with learning.

Creating curiosity is my philosophy of education. My hope is to inspire students to be curious about the natural world. This curiosity will evolve into asking questions about the awe and wonder of the natural world which develops into the quest for knowledge to answer those questions and ultimately the desire to be a lifelong learner.
