A Showcase of Research and Creative Projects

What an incredible year for ideaFest 

Our 13th Annual ideaFest was our largest event ever, bringing together nearly 2,600 participants and featuring more than 250 poster submissions showcasing the creativity, research, scholarship, and innovation happening across our community. 

We were proud to see such an amazing range of academic programs represented, including Art + Film, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, College Corps, Critical Race, Dance, Gender & Sexuality Studies, English, Environmental Science & Management, Environmental Studies, Fire & Rangeland Management, Fisheries Biology, Forestry, Geography, Environment & Spatial Analysis, Geology, History, Math & Data Science, Music, Nursing, Pelican Bay Communications program, Physics & Astronomy, Psychology, School of Applied Health, School of Engineering, Social Work, and Wildlife.

Join us on Friday, May 7, 2027 as more than 200 students, faculty, and staff from Cal Poly Humboldt showcase research, performances, digital projects, and more! ideaFest is a campus-wide event sponsored by the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs, Marketing & Communications, and the Library in collaboration with the Colleges. We are excited for the opportunity to support the development and dissemination of research and creative activities at Cal Poly Humboldt.

ideaFest Journal

The ideaFest Journal is an annual, peer-reviewed journal that showcases the work of faculty, staff, and students at Cal Poly Humboldt.

ideaFest Poster Publications

ideaFest posters are published in the Cal Poly Humboldt Digital Commons with the presenters' permission. You can explore all past posters in the Cal Poly Humboldt Authors Hall publications list by searching "ideafest" and clicking on the link to view the poster. 

We hope you consider publishing your poster in Humboldt Digital Commons and a research paper in ideaFest Journal, Humboldt's own peer-reviewed academic journal. The deadline to submit an article to the journal is two weeks after the end of the fall and spring semesters. For more information contact The Press at Cal Poly Humboldt at press@humboldt.edu.
