Receiving a Refund

If there are Financial Aid funds remaining in your student account after all university charges are paid, you may either get your money or "refund" through Direct Deposit (within 2-3 business days of disbursement) or by paper check (available on Fridays). Enroll in Direct Deposit via your Student Center account to ensure timely receipt of funds.

All students are highly encouraged to enroll in direct deposit via their Student Center (under Finances section), which provides faster deposit of funds and reduces risk of check fraud.  If you do not have direct deposit (EFT) set up with Student Financial Services, your refund check must be picked up at the Cashiers window, SBS 257. Checks are not mailed.

You will be notified via email when a refund is generated and when it will be available for pickup. Please be aware that not all financial aid is disbursed at one time. You may have a disbursement that does not generate a refund. To view any financial aid disbursements or refunds, navigate to the " Account Activity" drop down box  under Finances on your Student Center.

Your Financial Aid refund can be used towards any education-related item listed in the cost of attendance such as such as books, transportation, housing, food, and miscellaneous expenses. This also means you are solely responsible for budgeting this refund throughout the semester.
