Canvas Training

The goal of Canvas Training Program is to empower faculty to explore and experiment with tools in Canvas, while applying best practices in course design and delivery to support student success.  We will provide hands-on time for faculty to apply what they are learning to their Canvas courses, with the support of the Instructional Design and Learning Management System (LMS) Support teams.

Creating Your Canvas Course: This 90-minute hands-on training focuses on the basics of the Canvas learning management system interface, navigation, and design. We will focus on some of the most impactful learning and teaching tools in Canvas designed to enhance learning, engage students, streamline facilitation, and assess outcomes. Prior to the training, you will participate in some brief "flipped" exercises to identify the outcomes of the training session, and review best practices in course design. During the session you will watch two brief presentations, followed by hands-on application in your own course or a course shell that we will provide you with to get you started in Canvas.
