TIME TO CHECK YOUR SECURITY QUESTIONS!

June 3, 2015

Now that the new HSU password system is in place, ITS is recommending all employees check their security questions to make sure you still know the answers. If you haven’t entered any security questions, now’s the time to do so. Here’s how:

Enter security questions for the first time

  1. Click on the new Account Settings link at the top right in myHumboldt. The CSU Responsible Use Policy will be displayed.
  2. Click Accept. You’ll see a pop-up message on the screen asking you to make sure you’ve entered your cellphone number in your PeopleSoft record. If you haven’t done this yet, click on the PeopleSoft link in the pop-up and do it now. You won’t lose your place in Account Settings.
  3. Click Next Message. You’ll see an explanation of why it’s important to do this.
  4. Close the message box. You’ll see three drop-down menus, each containing a list of questions. Go ahead and select three questions and enter the answers (click Display Typing to make sure you’re entering the information correctly).
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Log Out at the top right of the screen to exit from Account Settings

Check or change existing security questions

  1. Click on the new Account Settings link at the top right in myHumboldt.
  2. Click on My Profile at the top right of the screen.
  3. Click the Set Up Security Questions tab in the upper right of the screen
  4. Click Display Typing to see the answers.
  5. If you want to change your questions, click on the wrench icon to the left of each question to choose a different one and enter your new answer.
  6. Click Save
  7. Click Log Out at the top right of the screen to exit from Account Settings

If you experience any problems in setting or resetting your security questions, please contact the Technology Help Desk at x4357.
