Under predicted warming trends, the Pacific Northwest will lose valuable water storage during seasonal drought periods. As already seen across the country, this can have important and sometimes devastating effects on forests. This study used the sap flow method to measure daily water use over the summers of 2015 and 2016. Various responses to the drought of 2015 were found which may help to complete the picture of possible future impacts of drought on our coniferous forests and the freshwater systems they feed.
