Temporary Power Reduction

August 17, 2016
Dear Campus Community,

PG&E has issued another request for the campus to temporarily reduce the use of electricity.  To adhere to this request, our building service engineers have reduced building ventilation fan speeds and lighting at various locations on campus for the period between 2:00pm and 7:00pm today, August 17, 2016.  As a result, building occupants may notice reduced airflow circulation this afternoon.

We apologize for any inconvenience and request you assist the University in meeting this demand response reduction by also turning off non-essential computers, equipment, and lights.  Everything you can do to help the University meet its reduction requirements will be greatly appreciated.

PG&E has indicated there is a possibility reductions may continue in the next few days if the warm weather inland continues.  Questions or concerns regarding the electrical reduction requirements noted above should be directed to Facilities Management Customer Service Center at 826-4475.

Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.
