QOLT Training Spring 2015
The College of eLearning & Extended Education would like to invite you to participate in HSU's Quality Online Learning & Teaching (QOLT) Training Program for Spring 2015. The instructional design team will facilitate four workshops for 12 faculty to learn how to use the QOLT rubric to review online and hybrid courses.

What is QOLT?
QOLT is a process designed to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of blended and online courses, as well as to recognize exemplary practices in online learning and teaching.  HSU courses use the QOLT Rubric as a guide during design and development to ensure student engagement, access, and support throughout the course.

What/When is the QOLT Training?
The HSU QOLT Training will take place during four face-to-face sessions (with an option to participate remotely via Blackboard Collaborate):
  • March 26, 3-5:00 pm
  • April 2, 3-5:00 pm
  • April 9, 3-5:00 pm
  • April 16, 3-5:00 pm
Faculty will learn how to use the QOLT evaluation tool and submit a course self evaluation and a course peer evaluation upon completion of the training. Feedback from the first QOLT Training faculty cohort indicated that some of the many benefits of the training was being able to share ideas with colleagues and translate the learning to other courses that they teach both online and face-to-face.

Faculty Stipend
Faculty will receive the following:
  • Four Training Sessions: $150 each
  • Self-evaluation of course: $200
  • Peer-evaluation of course: $200
