Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence Reporting Obligations

February 19, 2014

California State University employees are mandated to report incidents of sexual harassment and sexual violence that involve students.  Definitions of sexual harassment and sexual violence are posted at:

http://humboldt.edu/titleix/content/defining-sexual-discrimination-harassment-and-violence

If a student tells you about an incident of sexual harassment or sexual violence and the harm occurred while the student was enrolled at HSU, you are required to call Randi Darnall Burke, the Dean of Students, 707-826-5694.  No report is required unless students specify that the incident occurred while they were students at HSU.

Attached is a further explanation of these reporting obligations.  The attachment also includes names of community agencies and on-campus options where students can seek confidential support.

If you have questions regarding your reporting responsibilities, please contact Colleen Mullery x5086 or Randi Darnall-Burke x 5694.

Further information is also available at the Title IX website: http://humboldt.edu/titleix/

Thank you.
