The free Read&Write software, now available to everyone across campus, will support and improve reading, writing, research, and study skills for students, staff, and faculty. The software can be used to
  • read text aloud
  • create study guides or outlines
  • develop vocabulary lists with definitions
  • improve writing skills
  • convert image-only documents into text
  • create idea maps to help with composing papers
  • assist with gathering information from the internet
  • even translate individual words or entire paragraphs
Learn more about what Read&Write can do for you in this video.

The software is implemented as a floating toolbar that integrates into Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Adobe Acrobat, Google Docs, and other commonly used applications. It runs on Macs and under Windows and is installed on all campus lab machines; you can also install it for free on your own computer.
