River Institute Spring Seminar ~ April 24

April 13, 2015

Hello CNRS faculty,

Please join us for the final lecture in the HSU River Institute's Spring Seminar Series.  Our speaker is an out-of-town guest from CSU, Stanislaus.

"Catastrophic ecological disturbances in streams of the Klamath Mountains: effects of debris flows and wildfire"

Dr. Matthew Cover (CSU, Stanislaus)

Friday, April 24th, 3-4 pm in SciB 133

Talk description: In the steep watersheds of the Klamath Mountains, stream ecosystems and communities are strongly influenced by the legacy of large, rare geomorphic disturbances. How are watersheds responding to an increased frequency of disturbance events over the past century?

See attached flier.  Please contact Alison O'Dowd (ap73@humboldt.edu) if you are interested in meeting with Dr. Cover during his visit on April 24.

Hope to see you there,

Alison O'Dowd
