RAMP Academic Mentor Applications Due Monday, February 2nd.

Academic Mentors are part-time student staff members that are responsible for fostering an environment of peer academic support and encouragement for new first-year students for the 2015-2016 academic year. Through extensive support and mentor education, Academic Mentors acquire/refine skills and capacity necessary to manage a caseload of approximately 20-25 students. Academic Mentos assist these students in transitioning to college. Academic Mentors are supportive, approachable, and act as positive role models throughout the academic year, ultimately enriching the college experience for first-year students, particularly those who are first-generation. RAMP Academic Mentors work up to 10 hours/week at $10/hour.

Here's a QUICK summary of the qualifications:
1. Current HSU gpa of 2.75 or better
2. Current undergraduate students who are NOT graduating before May 2016
3. Interest in a $10/hr, 10 hrs a week position that is more flexible than many jobs on campus and comes with opportunities for paraprofessional development and support.
4. Interest in helping students succeed
5. Available Fridays from 3pm-5pm March 27-April 24 (+March 6 and May 1 if applying as a RAMP/EOP mentor...it's in the application)
