POWER REDUCTIONS CONTINUE TODAY

August 27, 2015
Dear Campus Community,

Due to the warm weather throughout California, PG&E has requested the campus temporarily reduce the use of electricity.  To adhere to this request, our building service engineers will be reducing building ventilation fan speeds and lighting at various locations on campus between 3:00pm and 7:00pm today, August 27, 2015.  As a result, building occupants may notice reduced airflow circulation this afternoon.

We apologize for any inconvenience and request you assist the University in meeting this demand response reduction by also turning off nonessential computers, equipment, and lights.  Everything you can do to help the University meet its reduction requirements will be greatly appreciated.

We anticipate the electricity use requirements will be at normal levels tomorrow, August 28th.  Questions or concerns regarding the electrical reduction requirements noted above should be directed to Facilities Management Work Control at 826-4475.  Specific questions regarding the strategies Facilities Management utilize to achieve such can be directed to our Chief Engineer & Energy Manager, Silas Biggin.  He can be contacted at silas.biggin@humboldt.edu.

Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.
