Please Participate in the Campus & Community Dialogue on Race

October 30, 2017

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to encourage you to find time this week to participate in the annual Campus & Community Dialogue on Race, an event that is now in its 19th year.

More than 30 workshops, presentations, and conversations are scheduled. These begin today, October 30, and continue through November 3, and they are being held throughout the campus and in the community.

At HSU, we engage in topics related to equity and diversity throughout the year, but this annual week of activities offers the opportunity for a sustained focus on them. I am especially impressed that organizers have partnered with the Equity Alliance of the North Coast to expand the conversation and include the broader community.

Highlights this year include a keynote this evening with Dr. Melina Abdullah, Chair of Pan-African Studies at CSU Los Angeles; a talk by Glenn Harris, President of the Center for Social Inclusion; and a poetry reading by Javier Zamora.

The complete schedule is available at the Campus & Community Dialogue on Race website. For more information, you may also email cdor@humboldt.edu or call (707) 826-3364.

Sincerely yours,

Lisa A. Rossbacher, Ph.D.
President
