Pair of Lumberjacks Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

ARCATA, Calif. – Humboldt State receiver Chase Krivashei and linebacker Taylor Mitchell earned CoSIDA Academic All-District football honors Thursday.

The two Lumberjacks are now eligible for the national ballot and the opportunity to earn Academic All-America accolades. The results of the Academic All-America voting will be available in early December.

Krivashei, a junior from Corona, Calif., has compiled a 3.63 GPA and is majoring in kinesiology. He leads the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with 5.6 receptions per game and 11 touchdown receptions.

A semifinalist for the 2015 Campbell Trophy, an award given to the college football player with the best combination of academics, community service, and on-field performance, Mitchell continues to collect acclaim for his academic and athletic success. The North Bend, Wash., native is majoring in business administration and has a 3.90 GPA. Mitchell ranks second on the team with 55 total tackles and has compiled 4.5 tackles for loss.

Both Lumberjack representatives are team captains this season.
