Open Meetings with Interim Provost Candidates

To the University community:

All faculty, staff, administrators, and students are invited to attend the open meetings for the Interim Provost candidates on Wednesday, June 24, 2015.  I will be seeking feedback as quickly as possible, so that we can make a timely decision among the candidates. I would appreciate your written feedback by 2:15 that afternoon.  Feedback forms will be available at each meeting and attached here.

Meetings will take place in the University Center Banquet Room at the following times:

9:00 - 10-:00 AM
Dr. David Westfall
--Emeritus professor and chairman of pharmacology, dean of science, and Vice President for Academic Affairs, University of Nevada, Reno, with experience at West Virginia University and Oxford University; academic background in pharmacology; particular experience with developing advising, assessment, and study abroad programs

10:15 - 11:15 AM
Dr. Theodora Kalikow
--President emerita of the University of Maine at Farmington, former president of the University of Southern Maine, former interim vice chancellor of the University of Maine System, former interim president of Plymouth State College, with experience at the University of Northern Colorado and Southern Massachusetts University, which is now University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth; academic background in philosophy; particular experience working within university systems, as president of a faculty union, and with diversity issues

1:00 - 2:00 PM
Dr. James Kelly
--Former President and Executive Vice President and Provost at Menlo College, former interim provost at CSU - East Bay, with experience at Cal State LA, Cal State Long Beach, and San Diego State University; academic background in social work; particular experience with international programs and distance education

The CVs for these three candidates will be available in the President's Office for additional review between now and June 23.  I hope you will have the opportunity meet these candidates and provide your perspective on the fits with HSU’s current needs.
