It's a lot easier to read emails on the go than it is to reply to them. But for things like requests for a meeting date or status on a project, a short "holding" response will often keep the conversation going until you have time to compose a more detailed response.

Google's Smart Reply uses machine learning to suggest up three alternative responses based on an analysis of the incoming message, like:

Incoming message: Do you have time to meet in the next couple of days to discuss this?

Smart Response: Let's do Monday OR Monday works for me OR Either day works for me.

You just hit the option that works for you.

Smart Response also learns your writing style over time, so suggested responses sound less like a robot and more like you.
