NETWORK OUTAGE AUGUST 11

On Thursday August 11, Telecommunications and Network Services (TNS) will be upgrading the campus border firewalls to improve security and introduce additional functionality, which means network communications (internet, Gmail, etc) will be unavailable for approximately 15 minutes between 5:00am and 6:00am. Local network services (wireless, network shares, data center, etc) will remain available during this time, but ResNet will not have access to data services, as their connection to the campus network goes via the border firewall.


Internet connectivity is a vital element in campus communications and information security, so it is critical that upgrades take place in a timely fashion and with minimal disruption to normal activities. Your patience is appreciated.
