How do you measure process improvement success?

October 10, 2014

If the criteria for measuring success are not set before you start down the road of improving a business process, it's impossible to know for sure whether those improvements met your goals. Setting clearly defined indicators (aka metrics) can help to both motivate teams and measure success.

The October 24 Process Improvement brown bag session will take place at 11am on Friday October 24 in Gist Hall 211C. Session leader Josh Smith with cover:

  • The importance of measurement
  • The value of clear benchmarks
  • Managing expectations
  • Embedding constant improvement

We'll also talk about cases where the data for a particular metric is known and accessible, and others where you might need to get a little more creative to come up with appropriate measures.

You'll come away from the session with a valuable toolkit of tips and tricks to help you develop easy-to-use measurements for projects of all sizes.
