LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Four Humboldt State softball student-athletes collected National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II All-Region honors. Pitchers Katie Obbema and Madison Williams and outfielder Hanna Holland were First Team selections, and second baseman Tiffany Hollingsworth was named to the Second Team.

Obbema was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Pitcher of the Year and a First Team All-CCAA choice last week. The Morgan Hill, Calif., native ranks second on the team with a 21-3 record and a 1.51 ERA. She is third in the West Region in shutouts and ERA, and the senior is second in victories. Obbema, along with the other First Team All-Region selections, were named to the 2016 Tournament of Champions All-Tournament Team and she earned CCAA Pitcher of the Week honors one time.

Williams also captured First Team All-CCAA accolades and is one of the West’s top pitchers. The junior has a 1.24 ERA and leads the Green and Gold with a 23-2 mark. She ranks second in the region in shutouts, victories, ERA and strikeouts. The Brentwood, Calif., native was named the conference Pitcher of the Week four times this season.

Holland is following up her outstanding freshman campaign with a record-breaking sophomore season. The speedy outfielder broke the Jacks’ single-season program stolen base record and leads the West Region in stolen bases. Holland was tabbed the CCAA Player of the Year for her accomplishments and garnered First Team All-CCAA honors. She ranks first in the West in on-base percentage, third in batting average and walks. Not to be outdone by her Green and Gold teammates, Holland was tabbed the CCAA Player of the Week three times in 2016.

During her junior campaign, Hollingsworth continued to prove she is one of the nation’s top infielders. The San Leandro, Calif., product is the Jacks home run leader (12) and ranks second on the team with a .382 batting average. Hollingsworth has earned NFCA All-Region honors in each of her three seasons at HSU, and she has twice earned All-American status. She leads the West Region in RBI and slugging percentage, and ranks fourth in home runs and fifth in home runs per game.
