November 27, 2017
Greetings CNRS Faculty ~

Beginning today, online student course evaluations have begun and will remain open for 2 full weeks. The course evaluation cycle is as follows:

Nov 27: Student receives online course evaluation. Cycle remains open for 2 full weeks.

Dec 1: Student receives first reminder with additional reminders every 4 days until evaluation is completed.

Dec 4: Instructor receives reminder if response rate is less than 90%.
  • Keep in mind that faculty may check on the response rate percentage in each of their courses at any time during the two-week evaluation period by emailing Julie Tucker (jlt7002) or Cortney  Koors (crp18).
Dec 10: Online course evaluation cycle closes at 11:59PM.

Course evaluation results will be available once grades are posted and we receive final approval from the Office of Registrar.

Best Practice for Encouraging Participation in Course Evaluations
·         Make an announcement in class during the evaluation period.
·         Stress the importance of constructive, professional feedback.
·         Allot time during the class period for students to complete the course evaluation on an electronic device (laptop, tablet, phone, etc.). If the student does not have an electronic device, please allow them to leave class and go to a computer lab to complete the evaluation.

If you think that an evaluation has not been prepared for your course, please email Julie at jlt7002@humboldt.edu or Cortney Koors at cortney.koors@humboldt.edu and we’ll work to resolve the issue immediately.

Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Julie
