Compliance Training May Be Coming Your Way

November 5, 2014

Based on your position responsibilities, you may be asked to complete one or more online trainings in the next few months. Notifications will come from TrainingNotifications@calstate.edu and will be taken through SkillPort.

If you are asked to complete a required training, you will receive an email notification stating the training title, the purpose of the training, the due date and which CSU Executive Order is relevant to the training (where applicable).  Information will also be provided on the Required Training page of the Training and Professional Development website as trainings are released.  The Required Training page will also indicate contact information for the appropriate compliance officer should you have additional questions.

Various federal and state laws as well as CSU and HSU policies have a training requirement. Certain courses, such as “Data Security and Privacy” and “Injury and Illness Prevention Program,” are required of every HSU employee. This includes all faculty-unit employees (full-time and part-time faculty, librarians, counselors, and coaches) staff (full-time, part-time and intermittent hourly) instructional student assistants, student assistants, Sponsored Program Foundation and auxiliary employees (Housing and University Center).

Additional courses, such as “Anti-Harassment, Discrimination, Retaliation” and “Conflicts of Interest” are required of a specific subset of employees. Regulations require that certain courses be completed on a recurring basis, while other courses must be completed only once.

Thank you for helping the campus remain in compliance by responding to these requests in a timely manner.

If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please contact HSU Training and Professional Development.
