Campus Working to Reduce Water Use

February 10, 2014

With the state experiencing severe drought conditions, Governor Brown has asked "all Californians to conserve water in every way possible.” He directed all state agencies to immediately implement water use reduction plans for all state facilities.

In response, the CSU Chancellors Office requested that campus leadership support Governor Brown’s campaign to reduce water consumption by 20 percent.

To meet this challenge, staff in the Office of Sustainability, Facilities Management, University Center, and Housing, along with a group of faculty, are reviewing current campus water consumption. They are developing plans to reduce water consumption across all areas of campus.

As a first step, please consider how you use water both at work and home, and identify ways that you can reduce your personal use. There are a number of relatively simple steps that you can take. For tips, visit the state's water conservation website at www.saveourh2o.org
