Call for Nominations: 2017 HSU Sustainability Champion Awards

April 4, 2017

HSU is accepting nominations for its inaugural Sustainability Champion Awards program, to recognize individuals whose practices have deepened a culture of sustainability, have furthered the integration of sustainability into academics, student life or the campus culture, and/or reduced HSU’s environmental footprint.

Complete the form below by April 14, 2017 to nominate a student, staff or faculty member for an award. Winners and their nominators will be notified by April 18, 2017 if they are selected, and the awards will be presented at the Earth Week celebration on April 20, 2017.

The award is open to students, staff and faculty who have worked to advance sustainability. Individuals may not nominate themselves. Any student is eligible; however, those faculty and staff members with sustainability in their job title or, as an obligatory aspect of their job, are not eligible for the award.

The Award Selection Committee will choose up to three candidates who embody the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and leadership as they work to establish solutions to pressing challenges facing the campus and society. Each Sustainability Champion will receive:

  • A gift card valued at $250
  • Award placard
  • Feature profile in campus publications

The inaugural awards will be presented in front of a campus audience at the Annual Earth Week Banquet and Awards Ceremony, taking place at 6 – 8pm on Thursday, April 20 in the Kate Buchanan Room.
