Associated Students Names New Executive Director

Associated Students (AS) is proud to announce Jenessa Lund has accepted the position of AS Executive Director. Jenessa will be starting Monday, April 24 and we are excited to have her.

Jenessa is an accomplished person who has proven she cares for and supports students in many different capacities. Jenessa earned a M.A. in Psychology at HSU and her B.A. in Legal Studies and Economics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She also has credentials in Pupil Personnel Services, specializing in school counseling and school psychology.

Professionally, Jenessa has been the Interim Director Extended Opportunity Programs (EOPS) and Services Campus Assistance, Response, and Engagement, District Foster Youth Liaison, and Foster and Kinship Care Education Supervisor at College of the Redwoods since April 2016. As the Interim Director, she provided leadership in program planning, development, implementation, supervision, evaluation, and budget management. Janessa was also an associate faculty member and counselor at College of The Redwoods EOPS from January 2015 to April 2016 where she provided academic, vocational, career and personal counseling.

Jenessa has experience working with different types of people and organizations. She is a member of the College of the Redwoods Student Equity Committee, the Hydesville Education Foundation and the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce.  She owns a Fro-Yo business in Fortuna! Jenessa was also a member of the Strategic Planning Committee of the McKinleyville Union School District, the California Association of School Psychologists, and the National Association of School Psychologists.
