With Dan Collen’s retirement effective 1 November 2016, I am pleased to share the news that, following an internal search process, Tom Trepiak will serve as interim Athletic Director for Humboldt State University, also effective 1 November.

Tom's 35 years of experience in athletic administration began at Humboldt State in 1981. He has served as associate athletic director at HSU since 2002, as well as from 1991-95. His related experience includes working as a sports information director, a fund-raising consultant, and a journalism instructor. Tom has an undergraduate degree from Humboldt State and a graduate degree from the University of Portland. Tom’s skills fit HSU’s current areas of emphasis in athletics, including fiscal management, knowledge of the full range of sports programs, a deep understanding of compliance and gender equity, and experience in fund raising.

The national search for an athletic director will begin in January, and additional information about this process will be forthcoming soon. Please join me in wishing Dan Collen the very best on his new adventures following retirement from HSU, and in welcoming Tom Trepiak in his new role as interim Athletic Director.
