Parents and Family Donors Make Big Impact
While your student is far from home managing the challenges of college, parents can still play an influential role in HSU’s efforts to enhance his or her academic experience.
Contributions through the Parents & Family Fund subsidize a broad range of initiatives that provide resources for learning and enhance support programs. As a contributor, you can even voice your opinion on the projects that get funded.
Last year, funds supported eight of 25 projects nominated by donors. After the vote was tallied, one generous couple stepped forward to provide full funding for an additional initiative they felt passionate about.
Projects chosen for funding included computers for a new lab and creation of a homework workroom for students in the rapidly growing Geospatial classes. Also selected were 3D cameras that will be used in the Biomechanics Lab.
Here’s how the process works: Visit the Humboldt Donor Voice website, where you’ll find easy instructions on making a contribution.
Start the contribution process now, and we’ll alert you when it's time to submit your vote for a project that will make a difference for your own student and many others.

Welcome Home to Humboldt
The biggest freshman class in HSU’s 102-year history rolled into town in August, traveling from as far as Indonesia and as close as McKinleyville. And as they began settling in to their new home away from home, we asked them about their decision to attend Humboldt State. Check out their answers to the question: Why Humboldt?
On September 4, all HSU students gathered to celebrate the school year at a Welcome Home to Humboldt party. Students enjoyed activities that included a Recreational Sports Club showcase, games, video game contests, and free prizes.
