Gearing up for Study Abroad

Adding a year abroad can be a great way for students to expand their horizons and learn about new cultures and refine foreign language skills. HSU’s Center for International Programs has many options available to help students explore the world.

The most important thing for your student to know? Start planning early. While some majors like Spanish and French & Francophone Studies require studying abroad, for many others it’s considered an elective. That means students interested in studying abroad should attend an informational meeting as early as possible. A schedule of meetings is available online.

Here’s an overview of the options available to students who want to fill up the pages of their passports.

  • Summer only. Most of the programs are four
    to 10 weeks long.
  • Taught by HSU faculty
  • Limited financial aid available
  • Earn HSU credit for majors or minors
