Background:
I've spent over a decade in applied research and teaching Geographic Information
Systems (GIS) and remote sensing. I've been involved extensively in the development
and teaching of GIS and remote sensing courses in both the university and professional
development arenas. From 1994-1998 I conducted numerous workshops and training
sessions as part of a NASA-funded research effort focused on bringing spatial
analysis technologies to resource managers in Minnesota. I joined the faculty
at Humboldt State in the fall of 1998 where I now teach courses in mapping,
GIS and spatial data analysis.
