Humboldt State University is located squarely between Redwood National and State Parks, Six Rivers National Forest, over a dozen California State Parks, and numerous county parks and beaches. Together, these resources create a virtual laboratory in which ENRS student can work, study and play.
Many federal, state, and local agencies hire students for seasonal work, providing a foot in the door to your career.
These are all real possibilities for students in the ENRS program! HSU and the ENRS department have an excellent reputation and working relationship with local agencies; students design and implement interpretive programs, measure visitor impact in backcountry camps, and create state-of-the-art geographic analysis. You can take advantage of this valuable relationship, all the while gaining natural resource experience by exploring, studying, and working with local agencies.
