Staff Council Elections

Nominations for the following staff vacancies close on April 25, 2013 at 5:00 pm. Please consider running for one or more of these positions on University governance committees. These committees offer an opportunity to be involved in the University community and to get to know fellow staff members. You may nominate yourself or a colleague (with their permission).

Staff Council Members
Staff Council members serve a two year term and there are 9 vacancies. Staff Council’s mission is to provide staff with an effective process of selection for participation in campus governance, and to facilitate communication and cooperation across the campus on issues of interest and concern to staff. Staff Council also provides 2 $100 awards to staff members who are continuing their education. Staff Council meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 9:00 – 10:30 and there are various events throughout the year that would require some participation. Staff Delegate on the University Senate -
This is a 3 year term and the Senate meets on Tuesdays from 3:00-5:00. You must be available to attend the Senate meetings and various subcommittee meetings. For more information about the responsibilities you may visit the University Senate website.

Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Prevention Committee
This is a 2 year term and the committee meets at least four times each term. It is responsible for reviewing and developing recommendations for campus policies and procedures related to alcohol, tobacco and drug use issues for students, staff and faculty. Any staff, temporary or permanent, who is a not in an MPP (Administrator) is eligible to serve on these committees.

Staff Appreciation Event

When: May 23

Why: Join Staff Council in their annual Staff Appreciation Event. Raffles, awards and general merriment will cap off the school year.
