Zero Waste Humboldt

August 26, 2014

Zero Waste Humboldt is recruiting and training more than 50 volunteers to serve as recycling/composting station monitors and to assist vendors at the North Country Fair, Saturday and Sunday, September 20-21, 2014, on the Arcata Plaza.  HSU clubs, class teams, faculty colleagues, co-workers and student friends are encouraged to join the ZWH crew together.

The North Country Fair board's recent Zero Waste resolution and commitment to zero waste will be transformational!  Enjoy the Fair and join this community effort to reduce waste and conserve natural resources.

A 50-minute advance training session is scheduled at 2 different times: Noon, Sunday, September 14 or 5:30p.m. on Wednesday, September 17.  Commitment to a 3-hour shift at the Fair is preferred; 2-hour shifts accepted.  To volunteer, email your name, phone contact, and preferred day and hours to zwhvolunteers@gmail.com before September 15.

Faculty who have interest or expertise in zero waste design principles and waste reduction, are invited to email Zero Waste Humboldt at contact@zerowastehumboldt.org or Maggie Gainer at 826-2021.  This is a young organization with positions on the board of directors
