No Wireless Access on Campus: Tues. Nov. 26

November 19, 2013

The demand for wireless access across campus has grown exponentially, and we need to shut the wireless network down for approximtely eight hours in order to increase our capacity. To minimize the number of wireless users impacted, we are scheduling this work for Tuesday November 26th.

From 8:30am to 4:30pm on Tuesday November 26th 2013, all official campus wireless networks will be offline, including:

HSUWireless
HSUWireless-Secure
ResnetWireless
HSU-SERC
HSUMarineLab
SHCTablet
HSUVisitor
Internet and network access will only be available via the wired network during this time.

Staff and faculty on campus can connect using a wired network jack in their office and/or classroom. A complete list of active wired network jacks in common areas on campus is available at http://www.humboldt.edu/tns/active_classrooms.php.

Staff and faculty who believe they will need to make use of this option must pre-register their devices through their IT Support in order to gain access.

Once the wireless networks have been reactivated, all devices will need to be re-registered on the campus wireless network.
