Interim Provost for AY 2014/15 Named

May 6, 2014

Incoming President Lisa Rossbacher and I are pleased to announce that Dr. Jenny Zorn, current Associate Provost, Academic and International Programs at CSU San Bernardino, will serve as HSU’s interim provost for the academic year 2014/15.

Dr. Zorn has an exemplary 25-year career at CSUSB, beginning as an assistant professor in Geography and serving in a variety of management positions.  Her current position includes responsibilities for academic curriculum, accreditation, eLearning, space, creating a campus behavior committee as part of a violence intervention team, and working with a broad cross section of campus in strategic planning, educational policy, and more.  With her leadership, the Center for International Studies and Programs at CSUSB has tripled in size to about 900 students and continues to grow.  CSUSB President Tomas Morales has highly recommended Dr. Zorn and has graciously agreed to loan her to our campus for a one-year assignment.

I have asked Vice Provost Jena Burges to serve as acting provost this summer while Provost Bob Snyder is on vacation. I am grateful to Bob for his leadership over the years and for his willingness to assist Jena this summer as needed. Dr. Zorn will report to campus by July 15.

We will host a reception to welcome Dr. Zorn at a time to be announced later.

Rollin C. Richmond
President
