North Coast Arts offers intensive studio-based
workshops in a variety of media.
Workshops are designed to provide both
the beginner and the advanced professional
with an opportunity to engage in an intensive
studio experience in the medium of their choice.
The workshops are one week or weekend-long. Workshops are offered in Contemporary Art, Bookmaking, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Jewelry, Maskmaking, Painting, Photography, Printmaking and Sculpture. Participants may receive up to 2 units of optional academic credit in the program.
North Coast Arts is located on the campus of Humboldt State University, about five hours north of San Francisco. The university, nestled between the redwood forest and the wild northern Pacific Ocean, offers a peaceful and inspirational setting.
North Coast Arts participants will have access to well-equipped and staffed studios as well as a faculty comprised of professional artists who are also university professors.
Participants will engage in an exchange of ideas with other participants providing an environment for artistic exchange and renewal.
At North Coast Arts, participants can cultivate new skills, access studio facilities and equipment, nurture and deepen their own art practice or simply learn for personal enrichment.
