Theatre Mask Making for
the Classroom & Beyond
July 15-19 (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.)
Instructor: Bruce Marrs
This mask-making intensive is about transforming easily available materials into magic.
We will discuss the world history of masks, and the craft of a making a transformative object that will offer its own mind to the viewer.
We will focus on a number of different mask making techniques; some quicker and straightforward and others that are more elaborate. There will be no plaster bandage masks, or art masks. Each mask will have its own part to play in this world!
This workshop is great for teachers who are interested in developing theater skills for the classroom and for anyone else who is interested in the art of mask making.
