Services For

ClassClimate Course Evaluation Software

Description

ClassClimate software is used to create course evaluations and analyze student responses concerning instructors’ teaching. The software may be accessed only by designated individuals and summarizes the data for inclusion in faculty Personnel Action Files.

Specific courses in each college (College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, College of Professional Studies, and College of Natural Resources & Sciences) are selected for evaluation and students complete an evaluation of that course's instructor. Designated staff in each college scan the resulting data into the ClassClimate system, which then generates a summary report.

Each college determines the scope and content of their faculty evaluations, which are completed by students each semester - Summer (managed by Extended Education), Fall, and Spring.

Who's it for?

System Configuration

Any popular browser can be used to access the ClassClimate software to generate a cover sheet for the student evaluations.

Only a few computers on campus are equipped with the scanner and related software needed to scan evaluations. Contact your college office for locations.

Additional Information

Any questions about ClassClimate software and evaluation processes should be directed to your college Administrative Support Coordinators.

Accessing This Service

Enter classclimate.humboldt.edu into your web browser.

You will need a special login and password, available from your college office, to access the software. You'll also need to turn off any pop-up blocker software.

Please note that the access process and levels of authorization for use of the ClassClimate software are different for each college.

Using This Service

Once the decision has been taken as to which course(s) will be included in the evaluation process, the ClassClimate software is used to create a cover sheet specific to that course. This process can be accomplished from any computer; the scanner does not need to be available for this task.

Department staff take the completed evaluations and cover sheet to the department scanner. Any staff member with the appropriate authorization can then scan the student responses and create the summary report.

Contact your college office for more information on how to use this service.
