As technology gets more complex and more personal information is (accidentally or deliberately) shared, information security incidents happen more and more frequently, and even the largest organizations are not immune.
Identity Finder Professional is HSU's preferred solution for protected information scans. It is a commercial product that requires an annual subscription fee; there is no campus contract for Identity Finder licenses, so units wishing to use the software will need to purchase their own licenses. Information Technology Services has created a video tutorial to walk you through the process of resetting your password, as well as recovering your HSU User Name, in both downloadable video podcast and high-definition YouTube formats. Both versions feature closed captioning.

All HSU employees (including student employees, contractors, and consultants), faculty, and Unit 4 employees are required to have a signed confidentiality statement form on file with Human Resources. The information provided, together with the role you have at the University, dictates the data and applications you are authorized to access under the CSU Data Classification Standards.

Because today's security threats are heavily focused on exploiting vulnerabilities in common operating systems and applications, one of the most important ways to keep your information safe is to ensure your OS, browser, and other widely-used applications such as Adobe's Acrobat Reader are kept up to date (as well as your antivirus, of course!).
Note that you will need to have the latest OS patches installed for Windows and Macintosh systems, as well as up-to-date antivirus, in order to connect to the HSU wireless network.
