The McCrone Promising Faculty Scholars Award for HSU faculty members. This award will recognize 3 of HSU’s newer faculty, acknowledge their potential, and encourage their continued achievement.
The Alistair and Judith McCrone Graduate Fellowship Fund. This award will recognize 1 incoming graduate student who has been at Humboldt State University for less than an academic year.

Announcing the 28th Annual California State University Student Research Competition
This competition is held to promote excellence in undergraduate and graduate scholarly research and creative activity by recognizing outstanding student accomplishments throughout the twenty-three campuses of the California State University. Each campus will select up to ten students to send to the final round at CSU East Bay on May 2nd and 3rd, 2014. For more information click here.
HSU Incentives Program for Grant Proposal Development
The Office of Research is now requesting applications for assigned time funding for the fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters. In addition to assigned time we are also extending funding for summer salary/overload pay during the summer 2014 session.
The purpose of the HSU Incentives Program is to stimulate tenured/tenure-track faculty members to develop and submit full proposals to external funding agencies and organizations for research and educational projects.
The McCrone Promising Faculty Scholars Award - This award will recognize 3 of HSU’s newer faculty, acknowledge their potential, and encourage their continued achievement in their field of research.
The Alistair and Judith McCrone Graduate Fellowship Fund - This award will recognize one outstanding graduate student who has been at Humboldt State University for less than an academic year.
Welcome to the Foundation
The HSU Sponsored Programs Foundation is housed within the Office of Research, Economic, and Community Development. Our primary mission is to provide the Humboldt State University community with professional and accessible Pre- and Post-Award grant and contract services. We administer virtually all externally funded grants and contracts as well as submit proposals to external funding agencies on behalf of the University. Some of our grant and contract services include:
- Assist faculty and staff in identifying funding sources
- Oversee institutional routing process for submitting proposals
- Establish project budgets
- Administer extramural projects
- Maintain a web-based financial reporting system for Principal Investigators
- Oversee project close out and final financial reporting to funding agencies
- Administer various campus small grant and incentives programs
