NMSI Science and Mathematics teaching scholarships
Fall 2011
The Humboldt Science and Mathematics Center welcomes applicants to apply for scholarships for the pursuit of a math or science teaching credential. Awards are available for two groups: 1. seniors majoring in math or biology teaching OR 2. Teaching credential candidates with a math or science focus. See applications below DUE: December 1st, 2011.

Mathematics Tutoring Program | Fall 2011
The Humboldt Science and Mathematics Center welcomes applicants to a tutor training program for
undergraduate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics) majors with interest in the teaching
and learning of mathematics. The program is especially
interested in providing an early experience for those
STEM majors who want to explore teaching as a profession.
About NMSI
The primary mission of Northcoast Mathematics and Science Initiative (NMSI) is to enhance the mathematics and science teaching professions through recruitment and training of individuals with strong mathematics and science backgrounds and enthusiastic dispositions entering the teaching profession. Related activities also include professional development opportunities for practicing teachers.
NMSI was founded in 2004 with a grant from the California Post-Secondary Education Commission together with support from regional schools and Humboldt State University. More recently, ongoing funding comes from the California State University’s Mathematics and Science Teacher Initiative.
