The Humboldt State University Forestry Alumni Chapter was established to support the Department of Forestry and Wildland Resources. The Chapter aims to provide a source of expertise to the students and faculty, and to provide for the fellowship of the alumni, students, and faculty of the Department.
The Forestry Alumni Weekend has changed from an annual spring event to a fall event that is held in conjunction with HSU Homecoming Week in the fall. The event is a great opportunity for HSU Forestry Alumni to get together in the good ol' redwood stomping grounds and celebrate HSU Forestry traditions, reminisce, meet with old friends, and see how the department is doing today.
This year the HSU Forestry Alumni Weekend will be held during the Humboldt State Centennial Celebration & Homecoming weekend in the Fall of 2013 (Sept. 27-29). Come celebrate with us!!

The Forestry Alumni Scholarship Endowment helps deserving undergraduates pursue their studies to earn a degree in Forestry. The scholarship helps to pay their fees and tuition, currently $7,130 for the academic year. Eligible students are those with a minimum 2.75 GPA, at least a Junior class standing, and who are active in forestry-related activities, such as the Society of American Foresters, logging sports, Forestry Club, Student Association of Fire Ecology, and others. 1959 forestry alumnus, Robert “Bob” Archibald of Glendale, Arizona, from the first class of four-year graduates, will match alumni donations to the endowment up to $1,000 per year. Bob is making this generous challenge to encourage your donations. Please consider your own generous donation, especially in this Centennial Year of Humboldt State University. The forestry program has been a hallmark program of the university and we are proud of our forestry graduates, who are known throughout the world. Help keep our tradition strong. Thank you.

In 2005 the forestry alumni also began to actively help the department with student recruitment. We have developed an effective student recruitment program which began to be implemented in the fall of 2006. If you are interested in learning more information about the program or being part of the program by giving a recruitment presentation, please view the recruitment page.
