My current work is the development of an initial conception of the human form. As a sculptor, I feel that is it only once a form is truly understood that it can be rendered with any meaningful effect. This study of the body attempts to understand underlying structures and their effects on superficial anatomy. Through this process, forms that are often left unseen are exposed and isolated; while this provides the opportunity to contrast the body’s physical constructions with one another, it also allows for deeper contemplation. My intention is to not merely create a formal study, but to also address ideas of personal introspection that arise from the process.
