Arturo S. Rodriguez is the second president of the United Farm Workers of America. Rodriguez became UFW president in May 1993, after Cesar Chavez' death and has successfully carried on the work of the union's legendary founder.

This event is sponsored by HSU's College of Professional Studies and is a part of the Centennial Speaker Series made possible in part by gifts from HSU alumni and friends to the Humboldt Loyalty Fund.

Join us for a warm, interactive Community Passover Seder for Humboldt State students!

Enjoy a full course, sumptuous Seder feast, with all the traditional delicacies - and lots of wine! The story of exodus will come alive through the kabbalistic insights and mystical teachings told with humor and melody. Our Seder is English friendly so everyone can feel welcome.

Defending Mother Earth: Environmental Justice Week

HSU Campus
Environmental Justice week is a four-day conference starting April 14. The event includes workshops, speakers, hand-on science workshops, interactive activities, critical discussions, and a cultural night.

The focus of the conference is the ways which communities protect their natural systems such as land, water, air, food, sacred sites, culture, and language from a grassroots and community-centered approach.

The main themes for the conference are challenging environmental racism and the discourse of discovery.
