Self Love Is Radical: Cervical Self Exam Workshop

Kinesiology and Athletics Building
Have you ever seen your own cervix? Why is seeing your own cervix so important?

Join these workshops sponsored by the Women's Resource Center and not only learn about your own external and internal anatomy, but why it’s so important that you advocate for your reproductive health!

The purpose of this workshop is to give you resources to experience:
• Bodily autonomy through education and physical interaction with oneself.
• Self-love through mental visualization, and self-awareness practice.
• Empowerment through problem solving, finding and using community resources, and self-advocacy with the medical establishment.

This workshop is intended for HSU students only. Cervical Exam Kits (including mirror, flashlight, plastic speculum, and instructions) will be provided free (to the first 30 HSU students) thanks to the generous funding of the WRC.

Another community workshop will be held 4/22/13 (NR201 6-8:30 p.m.) The event will be open to the community. Cervical exam kits will be available for purchase at the workshop.

Andrea and Jessie are both full spectrum doulas with Pacific Northwest Doula Services (pnwbirth.com or on Facebook) and Wendy is an aspiring midwife working on her senior thesis in Religious Studies.
