With some of the world's greatest windsurfing spots right here in Humboldt County, this is an opportunity to learn one of the most versatile forms of sailing. This course is designed for beginners, combining both a classroom pre-trip session as well as an outdoor lesson with an optional second day (level II) for practice. Participants will get familiar with the sport by learning the basic knots, equipment and weather considerations needed to enjoy windsurfing. |

| 7:00 pm-9:00 pm | Isshrinyu KarateHSU Recreation and Wellness CenterIf you are looking for an activity that provides a workout while learning a practical form of self-defense, this may be for you. Come to the Recreation and Wellness Center Monday and Wednesday evenings starting March 25th through May 1st. Beginners are welcome! Isshinryu Karate is a classical style of Okinawan Karate. Participants learn basic forms (kata), sparring techniques, and a direct, effective form of self-defense. Robert Sherman, eighth degree black belt and chief instructor, has taught Isshinryu Karate continually at HSU since 1979. This class is taught to all levels, and students may earn rank. Several students have been promoted to black belt. |
